Free Home Brew Label Templates
Came across this free template link today. I would urge you to have a look at the Two Thirsty Gardeners website as well. Really good......
Woodfordes Wherry
The Wherry has now gone into the pressure barrel for its second fermentation. I managed to get a really good second hand barrel from the home brew shop in Coalville for the princely sum of 15 quid......

Homebrew
I bought a six bottle Chardonnay from Wilkinsons the other week which is clearing nicely. Add to this a 40 pint Woodfordes Wherry kit that is bubbling away in the downstairs loo and that should keep me stocked up for a good few weeks
The Garden
What dreadful weather so far. Finally this weekend I have managed to sow shallots and garlic (yes, I know very late)together with peas and carrots. Canes are set for the runner beans in a couple of weeks and lots of other stuff to do with tomatoes and herbs. Let's hope this nice snap continues........

Poundland

I bought a number of seeds together with seed Potatoes, Onion and Shallot sets from Poundland last year. Sadly, the vast majority were woeful with the exception of the Golden Gourmet Shallots which yielded a really good crop of cracking pickling onions. They are back on the shelves and I have purchased a couple of bags for this year. Fingers crossed for another bumper crop.....

Vegetableseeds.net Part 2
Amazing. This afternoon I ordered Pea, Bean, Carrot, Tomato, Cress, Parsley seeds together with a roll of pea netting. I had a ten quid gift voucher so it came to pence which was marvellous. The order was processed immediately and within two minutes they had sent me detailed sowing and harvesting instructions on each variety based on my basket. Incredible service and they need a shout out. Visit them here

Jam Jars
A house full at the moment but filling them is taking a lot longer. I have managed a couple of jars of Spiced Bramble Jelly from the lb's and lb's of Blackberry that we picked around the village. The adding of mixed spice was something I found in an old book and it certainly gives the finised preserve a lovely 'mulled' taste but there is a powdery element that remains. It wouldn't be noticeable so much in a jam (with seeds and all)so next time I think I will mix with a little water and strain before adding.
I also have used a donated marrow for a rather pleasant Chutney and I have a stack of other stuff, Runner Beans, Green Tomatoes, Courgettes etc.. which will become a Picalli eventually as soon as I can find a stockist of Mustard Powder which is proving rather difficult............
